The past two weeks have been both busy and exciting! On May 4 we held the 19th Annual Ballroom Gala to benefit Meals on Wheels. Several hundred dancers gathered at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester to enjoy great music, good food, wonderful dance demonstrations, raffles and a silent auction. It was held on the same day as the Kentucky Derby, so our theme for this year’s event was “Run for the Roses.” All of us at SJCS are deeply grateful to the gala sponsors, many of whom have supported the gala for many years, for their generous support.
Very soon, we will be uploading pictures from the Gala; we have some wonderful shots of the dancers and look forward to sharing them.
The 19th Annual Run for the Roses Ballroom Gala is May 4th! Purchase your tickets today at the discounted rate of $55 per person up until April 12th. After that date, tickets will be $60 per person. Master of Ceremonies, Mike Morin of the WZID (95.7 radio) Morning Show says, “There are so many reasons I enjoy the Ballroom Gala. Most importantly, I love that Meals on Wheels provides daily nourishment to thousands who can’t get out. Plus, since I have 2 left feet, I have a great time watching the ballroom dancing. This is a must-attend fundraiser!”
The proceeds from this Gala, our biggest fundraiser of the year, help in our struggle to continue to deliver food, friendship and a daily safety check to our clients in Hillsborough County.

The FitzVogt & Associates 18th Annual Ballroom Gala to benefit Meals On Wheels was a tremendous success! Several hundred people came and enjoyed the dancing, a delicious meal, our silent auction and several dance demonstrations put on by representatives from local dance studios. This year’s theme was Cinco de Mayo – we had great fun with the decorations.
The Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year bringing in close to $50,000. Many thanks to all who supported the Gala by attending, donating an item for our silent auction or putting on a dance demonstration. A special thank you goes to our many sponsors whose support made this event possible:
