We are no longer selling tickets on-line, but we will have a limited number available at the door.  I hope to see you tomorrow at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, located at 700 Elm Street, starting at 6:00 for the FitzVogt & Associates 18th Annual Ballroom to Benefit Meals on Wheels.

Hundreds of fashionably attired guests will dance the night away to music played by DJ Joe Butera, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and an elegant three course dinner, bid on auctions and enjoy a star-studded performance by local ballroom dancers.

Recently, Meals On Wheels driver, Tom (on left), delivered more than just the usual meal, a smile and a daily safety check to clients Ken and Alice.  Tom learned that Ken would be celebrating his 100th birthday this October and delivered a cake and sang “Happy Birthday” to him.

MOWAA Exemplary Magnet Accreditation for SJCS!

Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) recently awarded SJCS, the provider of Meals On Wheels, Magnet Accreditation at the highest level – exemplary. 
SJCS is the first Meals on Wheels Program in New England to achieve any level of MOWAA Magnet Accreditation. 

In a letter from MOWAA President and CEO, Enid A. Borden says that SJCS, “joins a prestigious group of Senior Nutrition Programs across America dedicated to providing quality nutrition services at the highest levels of organizational accountability.”  She also adds that this honor, “demonstrates to families and caregivers, donors and funders that your program operates according to the highest standards for program safety, program quality and program efficiency.”

SJCS is very proud of this prestigious achievement!

St. Joseph Community Services (SJCS), the provider of Meals On Wheels throughout Hillsborough County, has elected Mr. John Getts, of Henniker, to its board of directors for 2011/2012.

John Getts is the Executive Director at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation – Greenbriar in Nashua and has worked there for twelve years.  He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and has served on the Henniker School Board and the Henniker Planning Commission and is an active member and past Chairman of the NH Health Care Association (NHHCA).  He is currently Secretary at the NH chapter for the American College of Health Care Administrators.  Mr. Getts is a great proponent of senior issues in the community.  He resides in Henniker with his wife and three children.
