The SJCS menu is developed through the combined efforts of the dietitian from our licensed kitchen and the SJCS registered dietitian. Meals meet 1/3 of the daily nutrition requirements for older adults. SJCS meals provide 3 oz of protein, 2 servings of fruit/vegetables, whole-grain baked product, dessert, and milk. Meals are designed on caloric count, sodium content, and fiber. Clients offer input regarding meals through meal evaluations, new client surveys, and annual surveys. Clients with a nutritional risk score of over 6 receive a call from the SJCS registered dietitian to discuss the impact of our program and any additional changes they can make on their nutrition.
